An exciting opportunity has arisen at Newcastle Cricket Club Ltd to help develop the business by appointing a deputy/ shift manager.

Newcastle Cricket Club CIC Ltd are a social enterprise (Community Interest Company), with cricket teams playing in the North East Premier League Cricket League and Northumberland & Tyneside Cricket League. We operate a thriving bar and function room, which drive the activities on the Club. These activities are overseen by the Club Manager. We are looking for someone to work under the guidance of the Club Manager to help deliver these activities.

The post holder will take assist in the day-to-day management in an effective and efficient running of all of the clubs facilities, including the bar, function room, meeting room and terrace area to ensure a profitable business, whilst providing a space for all members of our community. The majority of the hours will comprise bar work to meet the needs of the business, with the post holder responsible for safe and efficient operation of the site whilst the manager is not on duty.

The post holder would be responsible to the Club Manager and the Board of Directors of Newcastle Cricket Club (Community) Ltd, with day-to-day responsibility to one of its named Directors and the Club Manager.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a fast-paced hospitality setting, a willingness to learn and accept new responsibilities, and a desire to develop their career into a managerial role.

This is a salaried role with a 24 hours workweek, tenable for 5 months in the first instance. The opportunity to take additional hours, paid at a rate of £11.10/ hour, may be available, depending on the needs of the business. Opportunity for extension or progression may arise at the end of this period, subject to the needs of the business and performance of the post holder. The role comes with 28 days paid holiday pro rata annually.
