Mulled wine, pancakes and perfect weather!
A sellout crowd at Jesmond Fireworks Display 2012 enjoyed a perfect starry night and a superb display from the magnificent team at Reaction Fireworks. Thanks to local video journalists, you can enjoy it again! See Jesmond Local report here. They’ve linked to a Flikr album of other photos – and we’ve more photos below.
The event – sponsored by Dickinson Dees – attracted a crowd of 4000. Local cricketer Will Hardy led the countdown, after being interviewed by Metro Radio’s Clive Warren on the Radio Tyneside stage.
Nearly a hundred volunteers were thanked for their fantastic hard work – this included Gosforth Sea Cadets, Newcastle University students, the Police Cadets, Percy Hedley representatives, Newcastle Cricket Club members and local residents.
Attractions included a wide choice of refreshments – amongst the favourites were freshly-made pancakes, a hog roast, burgers, home-made sweets, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine. By popular request, the recipe will be added here! – we owe Delia Smith our thanks!
