AGM news, recruitment, legacy

Many thanks to all who attended the first AGM for NCC CIC.

The Directors were re-elected, with Nadeem Ahmad continuing as Chair. However recruitment for volunteer Directors is now very urgent, with vacancies for key roles of Treasurer to add to the longer-term gaps for Club Secretary and Business Manager.

Nigel has stood down as Treasurer after 12 years in the role. He said: “Many charitable organisations such as ours benefit from professionals taking on this role as volunteers and I would encourage members to consider contacts or work colleagues who may be willing to support such a good cause. In the short term, we have paid for additional professional support, to ensure compliance with legal requirements.” He is continuing the regular financial administration volunteer work, to support the club.

Olwyn announced in summer she’d have to step down due to the new job in Edinburgh – that formally went through at the AGM, where Olwyn wrote of the wrench as well as the “privilege to volunteer with so many people who love the club”. She said that she and Rob had done a legacy gift to support the club, and encouraged others to consider that. The club’s status as a Community Amateur Sports Club means that legacies are exempt from tax.

Full info is to be sent out to members – Annual Report, Accounts and Minutes – and posted on Noticeboard.
